The Slot in WordPerfect

Slot

The word slot has a long history in the English language. It has been used to describe a hollow at the base of the throat above the breastbone. It is a grammatical term that has been used for various purposes, including an interior opening in a copy desk occupied by the chief copy editor. The word also has an etymological connection to the Old Norse slod, which means “hole.” Its earliest recorded use was in the late 14c., but the meaning of a slot machine first appears in the 1880s.

The slot represents the area where the best scoring opportunities can occur without deflection. This is a great advantage for players, since they have a better view of the goal while shooting. A low slot also allows them to take wrist shots with a clear view of the goal. Defensive players will often lay big hits to a small winger who is in the slot. Once this information becomes available, more teams will be able to maximize their chances of scoring.

The slot mapping process begins by mapping specific words or phrases to the various slots. First, select the name of the slot in the Select Slot menu. After choosing the slot, the user can add or remove synonyms by typing the word or phrase into the field and pressing Enter. The slot can also be edited or deleted by selecting it in the Slots tab. You can also assign multiple slots to a single entity. When creating multiple slots, make sure you create the appropriate mapping for each slot type.
